Faulds finds silver in Ottawa

THS runner finishes second at OFSAA cross-country championships

Rachel Faulds of Trenton High turned in the top local performance at the 2011 OFSAA cross-country championships Saturday at Green's Creek Conservation Area in Ottawa.

Faulds, the reigning COSSA and Bay of Quinte senior girls champion, finished second at the provincial finals to capture a silver medal.

Faulds crossed the line in 19:01.2, trailing only the winner — Jamie Phelan of St. Mary's (18:52.2). The senior girls field featured 246 runners from across Ontario.
